Puckett Consulting Services:
25 Years Revolutionizing Workplace Safety
Rick’s mission, passion, and purpose are to help organizations eliminate workplace injuries. For more than twenty-five years, he has touched the lives of thousands of people across the world and driven impactful initiatives to reduce the severity and frequency of injuries and illnesses.
Early in his career, Rick was a witness to a severe workplace injury event that took place directly in front of him. The race to save the young man’s life, the grief and horror of the employees present at the situation, and the lasting suffering and sorrow of the employee’s family members left an indelible mark on Rick’s heart.
As a result, Rick went on to achieve a BPS in Organizational Behavior from the University of Memphis and an MS in Environment, Health, and Safety Management from the University of Findlay. He gained Board certification (CSP) in 2008.
Rick has been successful in Environment, Health, and Safety (EHS) roles, site management, global sourcing, and organizational leadership appointments in leading companies like International Paper, Owens Corning, and Ford Motor Company. Many years of work assignments, both domestic and global, led to a broad perspective on influencing and working within different cultures. But his focus on caring for people and insisting on workplace safety never diminished.
The most valuable lessons he learned through his career are:
No one gets hurt on purpose
Most injured employees get hurt doing regular, routine job tasks
Leaders set the tone for how work gets done – not the employees
Rick loves to help organizations find ways to improve employee engagement, reduce the risk of injuries and illnesses, and coach leaders on how to influence culture. Seeing the impact on people, leaders, and organizations has been very rewarding.
Rick felt it was time to relocate back to Arkansas to be near family and start his own consulting company. His company brings simple, proven, data-driven techniques to meet organizations “where they are” on their journey.
Rick and his wife have three sons, two daughters, and four grandchildren. He lives in Northwest Arkansas and loves the community.
